Incentive for EEV Status : RM20k Rebate

Readers whom were interested to get new X1 Drive were in for a treat. The X1 had been designated as an Energy Efficient Vehicle by the Malaysian government, and therefore qualified for a tax incentive rebate of RM20k. Therefore, the prices of X1 sDrive would be reduced from RM250k to RM230k, after the rebate. An even better price, for a great compact luxury crossover.

  1. Good evening Mr Andy, the purpose I writing here is need your advice. I stuck between the X1 F48 and the new Tiguan HL.

I have tested both cars and the handling is more less is like the same only X1 get more power since it 2.0 vs 1.4 for Tiguan.

The problem facing me on the X1 is rear passengers seat which I feel quite small even though the leg rooms is roomy. The seat base a bit short and cannot support your legs. Its feel like your legs kinda hanging.

The seat also cannot recline to support the back body passengers at relax position and I believe the passangers will suffer for long journey travel. Furthermore the rear passengers seat cannot move forward or backward to give more room for the luggage. But the 5 years free service and 2 years warranty on the tyres is very tempting.

For the Tiguan on the other hand, I feel very roomy and meet my expectations for the rear passengers. Only the drawdown is hot all owner story and shout about which is the after sales service and durability of the car. A lot of what I read in the net is unexperience of service center to overcome the problem arised and takes time to resolve it.

I planning to use my future suv for the next 6-7 years and worried whether Tiguan can last without less issue. X1 on the other hand its makes me worried since my children will grow up and they will complain about uneasy rear passengers seat. The both cars durable also I can't sure which car can makes me a trust and can serve me for the next 6-7 years.

Appreciate your kind and friendly advice on these matter. Thank you.
